CARB regulations changed in 2024, and if you’re running trucks with a GVWR over 14,000 pounds built in 2013 or newer, you’re required to test. Miss a deadline and you’re looking at registration holds, fines up to $75,000 per day, and trucks sitting idle while you sort it out.
We bring mobile CARB emissions testing directly to your location in Bermuda Dunes and throughout the Coachella Valley. You schedule around your operations, not ours. Our testers are CARB-certified for smoke opacity and emissions control systems, which means your results are valid the first time.
The testing itself checks OBD systems and emissions output to confirm your truck meets California CARB compliant standards. Once you pass, we submit results directly to CARB. If there’s an issue, we contact CARB on your behalf to resolve it fast. You’re not navigating state agencies alone.
This isn’t about upselling services you don’t need. It’s about keeping your equipment legal and operational so you can focus on the work that actually pays.
We’ve been keeping diesel fleets compliant since 2008. Before that, we spent 25 years as owner-operators in construction. We know what it’s like to deal with CARB regulations while trying to keep a business running.
Bermuda Dunes sits right in the heart of the Coachella Valley’s logistics and construction corridor. With nearly 450 people employed in construction locally and heavy commercial traffic moving through I-10 daily, this area depends on trucks staying compliant and operational. We’ve worked with fleet owners and independent operators across Indio, Palm Desert, Cathedral City, and Desert Hot Springs who need reliable CARB certified smog check services without the runaround.
We’re not the cheapest option, and that’s intentional. You’re paying for certified testers who understand CARB diesel compliance requirements, direct communication with state regulators when problems come up, and a track record of getting trucks back on the road without delays.
You contact us and let us know where your truck is located. We schedule a time that works around your operations. Our mobile testing team comes to you anywhere in California, so you’re not driving to a shop or losing productive hours.
When we arrive, we connect CARB-certified diagnostic equipment to your truck’s OBD system. For trucks with engines built in 2013 or later, this captures emissions data and checks for system faults. We also perform a visual inspection of emissions control components to confirm everything meets California CARB truck regulations.
The test takes about 30 minutes per vehicle. If your truck passes, we submit the results directly to CARB and you’re done until your next testing cycle. If something flags, we explain exactly what the issue is and what needs to happen next. In many cases, we can contact CARB directly to clarify the problem or negotiate penalty reductions if you’ve already fallen out of compliance.
You get documentation showing your truck passed, which satisfies the Clean Truck Check requirement. CARB updates their system, and your registration stays clear. No holds, no fines, no trucks sitting idle.

This service applies only to trucks that are model year 2013 or newer with a GVWR over 14,000 pounds. That includes semi trucks, heavy-duty diesel trucks, and alternative fuel trucks operating in or through California. If your truck doesn’t meet both criteria, this program doesn’t apply to you.
Starting January 1, 2025, all compliance deadlines require a passing emissions test performed by a CARB-credentialed tester. Depending on your truck’s configuration and usage, you’ll need testing every three to six months. Some 2013+ engines will eventually require testing four times per year. The annual compliance fee for 2025 is $31.18 per vehicle, and that increases with California’s Consumer Price Index each year.
In Bermuda Dunes and the surrounding Coachella Valley, we’re seeing more fleet operators and owner-operators hit compliance deadlines without realizing how strict enforcement has become. CARB collected $21.5 million in penalties in 2022 alone, and they’re not slowing down. Out-of-state trucks passing through California are also subject to these rules, which catches a lot of operators off guard.
We handle the testing, submit the results, and keep you informed about upcoming regulation changes. You’re not guessing when your next test is due or whether you’re at risk of a penalty.
If your truck doesn’t pass, we’ll tell you exactly what flagged and why. Most failures come from OBD system faults, emissions control component issues, or excessive smoke opacity during testing.
You’ll need to get the issue repaired before retesting. We don’t perform repairs ourselves, but we can point you toward what needs fixing so you’re not guessing. Once repairs are done, we come back and retest.
If you’ve already missed a compliance deadline and CARB has issued penalties, we can contact them directly on your behalf. We’ve successfully negotiated reduced penalties for clients who were out of compliance but took immediate action to fix the problem. The key is addressing it fast, not ignoring it and hoping it goes away.
Yes. If your truck has a GVWR over 14,000 pounds, was built in 2013 or newer, and operates in California, you’re required to comply with the Clean Truck Check program. It doesn’t matter where your truck is registered.
CARB enforcement applies to all heavy-duty trucks operating on California roads, including out-of-state and out-of-country vehicles. If you’re running loads through California regularly, you need to be enrolled in the program and maintain current testing.
The penalties for non-compliance are the same whether you’re based in California or not. Registration holds and fines up to $75,000 per day apply across the board. We test trucks for operators based all over the country who run routes through California and need to stay compliant without setting up a permanent testing relationship in-state.
Testing frequency depends on your truck’s engine year and how it’s used. Most trucks with 2013+ engines currently test every three to six months. Some configurations will eventually require testing four times per year as CARB phases in stricter requirements.
When you enroll in the Clean Truck Check program, CARB assigns your testing schedule based on your vehicle’s specifics. We track those deadlines for our regular clients and send reminders before you’re due, so you’re not scrambling at the last minute.
Missing a deadline triggers penalties and registration holds immediately. There’s no grace period. If you’re not sure when your next test is due or you’ve lost track of your compliance status, contact us and we’ll help you figure out where you stand and what needs to happen next.
Yes. We bring mobile CARB emissions testing directly to your location anywhere in California, including Bermuda Dunes and throughout the Coachella Valley. You don’t drive to us.
Our mobile testing team operates 24/7, so we can schedule around your operations. If your trucks run night shifts or you need weekend testing, we accommodate that. The testing equipment we use is the same CARB-certified technology used at fixed testing sites, so results are valid regardless of where the test happens.
For fleet operators with multiple trucks, we can test everything on-site in one visit. That eliminates downtime and keeps your equipment working instead of sitting at a smog check facility. We’ve tested trucks at construction sites, distribution centers, and truck yards across Indio, Palm Desert, and the surrounding area without disrupting operations.
A regular smog check applies to passenger vehicles and light-duty trucks under 14,000 pounds. CARB compliance testing under the Clean Truck Check program is specifically for heavy-duty trucks with a GVWR over 14,000 pounds and engines built in 2013 or later.
The testing process is different. Heavy-duty CARB testing focuses on OBD diagnostics, emissions control system integrity, and smoke opacity. It requires CARB-certified testers with specific credentials that regular smog check technicians don’t have. The results get submitted directly to CARB’s Clean Truck Check system, not the standard DMV smog database.
You can’t satisfy the Clean Truck Check requirement by getting a regular smog test. They’re separate programs with different standards. If you try to register or renew a heavy-duty truck without current CARB compliance testing on file, DMV will flag it and hold your registration until you’re compliant.
CARB charges an annual compliance fee of $31.18 per vehicle for 2025, which goes directly to the state. Our testing fee is separate and covers the mobile service, certified testing, results submission, and documentation.
The cost depends on how many trucks you’re testing and where you’re located. Fleet testing is more efficient than single-vehicle appointments, so we adjust pricing accordingly. We’ll give you an exact quote when you contact us with your specifics.
What you’re really paying for is avoiding the much larger cost of non-compliance. A single day out of compliance can trigger fines up to $75,000. Registration holds mean trucks sitting idle, which costs you revenue every day they’re not working. We’ve seen operators lose more money in one penalty than they’d spend on years of regular testing. The testing fee is cheap compared to what happens when you skip it.
