Your truck shows “compliant” in the CARB database. Your registration doesn’t get blocked. You’re not sitting on the side of the road explaining to an inspector why your paperwork doesn’t match what’s in the system.
You avoid the $10,000-per-day fines that stack up fast when you’re out of compliance. Your customers don’t drop you because they got fined for loading your non-compliant truck. Your fleet stays on schedule, your contracts stay intact, and you’re not scrambling to fix something that should’ve been handled months ago.
CARB compliance isn’t optional if you’re running 2013 or newer diesel trucks over 14,000 pounds in California. It’s required twice a year for most vehicles, and starting in 2027, it’ll be quarterly. The testing itself takes minutes when done right. The fallout from skipping it can cost you weeks of downtime and thousands in penalties.
We’ve been handling CARB compliance and emissions testing in Alhambra for over 15 years. We’re CARB-credentialed, which means we’ve passed the official training and exams, completed over 250 Clean Truck Checks, and we’re listed in the state’s credentialed tester directory.
We’re licensed, insured with $2 million in liability coverage, and cleared to work at airports and port terminals. We serve fleets, owner-operators, construction contractors, and logistics companies throughout the San Gabriel Valley and Southern California’s major freight corridors.
Alhambra sits right where the I-10 and I-710 meet, which means you’re dealing with some of the heaviest commercial traffic in the state. We built our business around that reality. We know the routes, the schedules, and what it takes to keep trucks moving through one of the busiest trade regions in the country.
First, your truck needs to be registered in the CTC-VIS database. If it’s not, we can walk you through that step. Once registered, we schedule a time that works for you—either at our location or we come to yours with mobile testing.
We plug into your truck’s OBD system and run the compliance check. The system reads your emissions data, checks for diagnostic trouble codes, and verifies everything meets CARB standards. If your truck passes, we submit the results directly to the CARB database on the spot.
Results typically show up in the system within one business day. Your truck’s status updates to “compliant” within two to three days. You get documentation for your records, and you’re cleared to operate legally on California roads for the next six months.
If something comes up during the test—a code, a sensor issue, anything that flags—we’ll tell you exactly what needs to be fixed before you can pass. No surprises, no runaround. Just clear information so you know what to do next.

This is OBD-based emissions compliance testing for heavy-duty diesel trucks—2013 and newer models with a GVWR over 14,000 pounds. That’s the service limitation. If your truck is older than 2013 or lighter than 14,000 pounds, this testing doesn’t apply.
You get a certified Clean Truck Check performed by a CARB-credentialed tester. We handle the database submission, the documentation, and the follow-up to make sure your status updates correctly. If you’re running a fleet, we can set up a testing schedule that keeps all your vehicles on track with the semi-annual requirement.
Mobile testing is available throughout Alhambra and surrounding areas in the San Gabriel Valley. That means less downtime for you—we come to your yard, your job site, wherever your trucks are parked. For fleets operating near the ports or along the I-710 corridor, that convenience matters.
Southern California has some of the strictest enforcement in the state. Roadside sensors flag high-polluting vehicles, and inspectors are checking compliance at weigh stations and during traffic stops. If you’re hauling freight through LA County, compliance isn’t just about avoiding fines—it’s about keeping your business relationships intact. Shippers are getting fined for loading non-compliant trucks, and they’re not going to take that risk twice.
Most heavy-duty trucks with OBD systems need testing twice a year—that’s the semi-annual requirement that went into full effect in 2025. The testing window depends on when your truck was last tested and what the CARB database shows as your next due date.
Starting in October 2027, the requirement increases to quarterly testing—four times a year. That’s a significant change, and it means tighter scheduling and more frequent check-ins to stay compliant.
If you miss a test or let your compliance lapse, your truck can’t legally operate on California roads. Your registration can get blocked, and every day you’re out of compliance adds up in potential fines. Setting reminders or working with a testing provider who tracks your schedule makes it easier to stay on top of deadlines.
If your truck fails, it means the OBD system detected an emissions-related issue—usually a diagnostic trouble code or a sensor reading that’s out of range. We’ll tell you exactly what flagged and what needs to be repaired before you can pass.
You’ll need to get the issue fixed, then come back for a retest. Once the repairs are done and the codes clear, the truck should pass. We resubmit the results to CARB, and your status updates to compliant.
The truck can’t operate legally in California until it passes. That’s not a suggestion—it’s enforcement. If you’re caught running a non-compliant vehicle, you’re looking at fines that start at $1,000 and can go up to $10,000 per day depending on the violation. Getting the repair done quickly is the only way to avoid compounding penalties and lost revenue from a parked truck.
We offer mobile testing throughout Alhambra and the surrounding San Gabriel Valley. That means we come to your yard, job site, or wherever your trucks are parked. It’s faster for you and keeps your operations moving without the hassle of driving to a testing facility.
Mobile service works especially well for fleets or owner-operators who are managing tight schedules. We bring the equipment, run the test on-site, and submit the results to CARB before we leave.
If you’d rather come to us, that works too. Either way, the testing process is the same, and the results get filed directly into the state database. The goal is to make compliance as convenient as possible so it doesn’t eat into your workday more than it has to.
This service is specifically for trucks that are model year 2013 or newer and have a GVWR over 14,000 pounds. Those are the vehicles equipped with OBD systems that fall under the Clean Truck Check requirement.
If your truck is older than 2013 or lighter than 14,000 pounds, it’s not subject to this testing. The CARB regulations are very specific about which vehicles need compliance checks, and we stick to that scope.
If you’re not sure whether your truck qualifies, check the model year and the GVWR listed on your registration. If both criteria match, you need testing. If not, you’re outside the requirement. It’s worth double-checking, because running a truck that should be tested but isn’t will get flagged during enforcement.
We submit your test results to the CARB database immediately after testing—usually while we’re still on-site or before you leave if you came to us. The results typically show up in the system within one business day.
Your truck’s compliance status updates to “compliant” in the CTC-VIS portal within two to three days. That’s the timeline CARB works on for processing and updating records across the state.
You’ll get documentation from us right away showing that the test was completed and passed. If you need proof of compliance before the database updates—say, for a customer or a shipper—you’ll have that paperwork in hand. The official status update in the state system just takes a couple of days to reflect.
Fines for non-compliance start at $1,000 per vehicle and can reach $10,000 per day depending on the severity and how long the violation continues. Each day you’re out of compliance counts as a separate violation, so the penalties stack up fast.
If you’re a shipper or a company that hires non-compliant carriers, you can also get fined up to $10,000 for each year you used that carrier. That’s why shippers are increasingly checking compliance status before they load your truck—they’re protecting themselves from liability.
Beyond fines, non-compliant trucks face registration holds, which means you can’t renew your registration until compliance is restored. You also can’t legally operate the vehicle on California roads, which means lost contracts, missed deliveries, and damage to your reputation. The financial hit goes way beyond the fine itself.
